 From the bride...

I married my marvellous man Paul Elliott, on Friday 17th May 2013, his 34th birthday.  East Close House in the New Forest was the venue for the fantastic day and we were even treated-to a little bit of sunshine.

My sister, Michelle was my Maid of Honour and her dress was the perfect contrast to my gown.  A strapless-floor-sweeper is not her style … and with those amazing pins why not go for a classy cocktail number?  I also didn’t envisage traditional flower-girl dresses for Paul’s nieces, Lara & Jessie either.  The girls deserved something adorable and fun to wear and as soon as I found the Angels Face website I knew the dresses would be unmatched.  Initially, the girls were far more impressed with the beautiful boxes, but as soon as they tried on their mist-coloured tutu frocks they were swirling around in delight.   As a little extra treat (and because deep down I would have LOVED this gift when I was 5-years-old) both girls were given dolly-tutu skirts for their cabbage patch dolls.

We left most of the beautiful rooms at East Close untouched, just dotting vintage vases of early-summer blooms along mantelpieces and on table-tops to bring the spaces alive.   The favours were teacups and antique keys, to accompany the teapot centre pieces, giving a little “nod” to Lewis Carroll who is said to have written ‘Alice in Wonderland’ after a stay at the old house.  Day-beds were set in the garden for unwinding and sipping Pimm’s, and there were even a few amusing distractions for the children among us!

With my handsome groom beside me, we shared a day filled with love and laughter (and some questionable dancing!) with our brilliant friends and wonderful families.  It was utterly perfect in every way.
